The International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) is a fellowship of structural engineers comprising of members in 100 countries around the world, with interest in all types of structures and materials. With a mission to exchange knowledge and to advance the practice of structural engineering, IABSE organizes annual international symposia, quadrennial congresses, and smaller conferences held in different countries.

This year, IABSE Conference 2015 with the theme Structural Engineering: Providing Solutions to Global Challenges was held from 23-25 September 2015 at Geneva, Switzerland.

The conference showcased the significant impact that structural engineers have on society. It focused on structural engineering as a key industry for addressing global challenges and ensuring sustainable growth of our society by providing a high quality built environment.

There were four Global Themes which formed the central pillars of the technical programme: Theme 1: Climate Change and the Energy Challenge; Theme 2: Global Engineering Challenges; Theme 3: Breakthrough Technologies; Theme 4: Urbanisation and Growth.

More than 100 experts from various organizations and institutions pre
