The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NetSol Technologies Inc. Thailand to formally establish a long-term collaboration between the two organizations. The MoU was signed by Mr. Asad Ghauri, President, NetSol Technologies Inc. Thailand and Prof. Sivanappan Kumar, Interim AIT Vice President for Academic Affairs on 20 December 2013.

 

NetSol Technologies, Inc. began operations as a US-based provider with a vision to create superior technology solutions. Currently, it is one of the global leaders in IT Services and Enterprise Solutions with a core focus on asset finance, wholesale finance, and leasing software.

 

The MoU stipulates the establishment of a Training Center at AIT, joint research and development work in mobile computing, and mobility access and development of AIT resources. AIT will provide assistance in capability and capacity building in areas of interest for NetSol. NetSol, on the other hand, will extend training for AIT resources to increase the Institutes capability in applications such as Oracle and GIS, and their applications to different commercial ventures.

 

Also attended the event were Mr. Raktham Tangworachet, Vice President Sales, NetSol Technologies; Dr. Naveed Anwar, Executive Director, AIT Consulting (AITC); accompanied by management representatives from each organizations.

 

The MoU was a result of previous discussions in September between NetSol headed by Mr. Naeem Ghauri, Founder, President, and Head of Global Sales and AIT representatives Dr. Naveed Anwar; Dr. Matthew Daily, Associate Professor, School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Dr. Paul Janecek, Visiting Professor, SET; Mr. Jonathan Manuel, Software Development and IT Manager, AITC; Mr. Muhammad Amir Izhar, Software Development Officer, AITC; Ms. Rakdao Pakdisi, Business Development Manager, AITC. The previous meetings targeted on how to synergize the strengths of both organizations.
