A team from AIT Consulting travelled to Manila, Philippines to meet with SM Land on 14th February 2011 and report on the current status of two ongoing structural projects.

The first project is a performance based evaluation of a 15-story commercial building in Pasay City comprising two towers, 10-story and 11-story and a 4-level podium.  The scope of work carried out is review of the structural system and details of the connecting portion of the towers in terms of suitability, safety, performance, conformance to the relevant codes and standards, cost effectiveness and adherence to the established engineering practices.

 

The second project is structural design review of a 44 story luxury residential building, comprising three towers.  The overall work performed includes review of design criteria, development of a detailed work methodology, creation of several computer models of the structure, detailed analysis and design of the structure, review of the design and detailing of key structural components and report and comment on the key design and performance indicators, including static and dynamic response, sway and drift, capacity ratios, utilization ratios, etc.
